Victoria trained as a doula with ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators) and continues to increase her knowledge and skills through educational seminars and professional learning programs. Her doula journey began in 2005 while pregnant and eagerly awaiting the birth of her child. She and her husband took Bradley Method(R) childbirth education classes, lots of pre-natal yoga and she was inspired by the powerful writing of certified professional midwife, Ina May Gaskin. As she learned more about pregnancy and birth, she saw the need for an additional skilled and informed, non-medical caring lay person to support women, women's birthing needs & choices.
Victoria knows that women's bodies, birth paths, choices, labors, and potential or known medical needs are different and with empathy and compassion she provides loving, non-judgemental support to mothers and partners. She feels called to do this work, loves helping women have truly satisfying births, enjoys helping a couple transition into parenthood and witnessing families grow.
Victoria lives in Logan Square, a northwest Chicago neighborhood, with her husband, one son and two cats.
I want my clients to have the best possible birthing experience and to feel solidly supported for the duration of our relationship.
