Service

I provide physical, emotional and informational support during your pregnancy, labor and delivery. As your doula, I work only for you and your partner! At all times I am motivated by your birthing desires and needs. You deserve a beautiful and satisfying birth.

  • Doula service

    Includes the following but we will craft a plan to best serve your needs:

    • Free consultation to discuss your birth desires, my birth doula services and to determine our compatibility
    • 1- 2 prenatal appointments to learn about you, your pregnancy and to discuss your birth plan, comfort measures during labor, the postpartum body, breastfeeding and baby care
    • Pregnancy, childbirth & parenting book lending library
    • Community resources list (midwives, chiropractors, acupuncturists, lactation consultants, support groups and much more)
    • Evidence based research assitance for medical issues, prenatal tests, etc 
    • 9am - 9pm email/phone support for the entire prenatal/postpartum period
    • 24 hr. on-call availability starting 38 weeks and lasting until you give birth
    • Early, continuous labor support at home and/or at the hospital (see below for more details)
    • Post-delivery breastfeeding support (I stay with you for 1-2 hr. after delivery.) 
    • 1 postpartum visit to discuss your birth, breastfeeding, baby care
    • Serving Chicago and suburbs
    • Parent references available upon request

During labor

I stay with you and your partner for the entire duration of labor plus 1-2 hours after delivery. My most used tools during labor are:

  • Various position suggestions to help with fetal positioning and descent

  • Loving and intuitive touch (massage techniques, aromatherapy)

  • Empowering parents to make informed decisions

  • Creating positive relationships with mom’s health care providers (Nurses, CNMs, OBs, etc)

  • An open heart with a calming presence

  • Reading and mirroring the mother's cues 

  • Holding and protecting mom's birthing space
